National Center for Next Generation Manufacturing
The National Center for Next Generation Manufacturing (NCNGM) facilitates an integrated approach to manufacturing technician education to define and disseminate the critical knowledge and skills required to support next generation manufacturing industries in the U.S.
The NCNGM facilitates the development of a national network of manufacturing stakeholders, maintains a repository of educational materials, provides professional development for educators, and provides guidance for recruiting and retaining a diverse next generation manufacturing workforce.
The NCNGM is organized according to Industry 4.0—the ongoing automation of traditional manufacturing and industrial practices, using modern smart technology. It includes technology teams for next generation manufacturing sub-sectors of design; fabrication; processing; supply chain, logistics, and quality control.
