Online Self-Study

HippoCampus offers multimedia lessons and course materials to help you with your instruction, homework, and studies.  You can browse multimedia lessons or complete courses, and find help with the topics covered in popular textbooks. HippoCampus is a great tool to supplement your understanding of course content.

Khan Academy boasts “free world-class education for anyone anywhere.” The site offers resources on several subjects with videos, practice exercises, and assessments. All resources are completely free and can be accessed from any computer with an internet connection.

EdReady is a free tool used to check readiness for college math and receive a personalized study plan. This option is ideal for students placed into developmental courses or looking to increase skills prior to starting College Algebra. The program does require a time commitment which varies, depending on your goals.

Online Tutoring

Tutor.com is a virtual learning assistance center, schedule online tutoring 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 361 days per year. TUTOR.COM closes on New Year’s Day, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day from 2:00 am to 2:00 am (Eastern) the following day.  TUTOR.COM guarantees all student essays submitted for review will be returned with detailed tutor feedback within 12 hours. No tutor may review more than one essay simultaneously. Tutor.com archives all session activity and archives are available for review by students and authorized administrators and faculty, including all chat transcripts and audio files. Included in the archives are whiteboard drawings, and other files or URLs exchanged during each tutoring session. Tutor.com retains all session records. Other free tutoring options

U.S. Military families can get online tutoring to help free of charge from Tutor.com. Registration is necessary for this service.

The Saint Paul Public Library offers a link to Brainfuse HelpNow which provides a variety of free tutoring services through a service called HelpNow, powered by Brainfuse for grades 3-12. One may access the service from home, school (requires a Library Card), or a public library. A Saint Paul Public Library card or a library card is needed that is registered with Saint Paul Public Library from another Minnesota library.
